Americana Za

A Kodak bulb,
flashes,
while the melody plays.

Walls are paneled,
deep and light,
brown woods surround.

One of a few,
memorable chorus’,
remembered and sang loud.

Smiling, laughing,
not understanding.

Reality and awareness,
wakes you up early.
A world once known,
now far past.

Consumer tornado,
swept up a decade.
The following,
unplugged.

Cynicism of the current state.
A joke with no laughter.
